Graduation Ceremony, Middlesex University, London England

lived experience, months of labour
pioneer science, domestic respect
eternal and timeless, natural order
intimate grandeur, I am just a speck
life whirls around me, repetitive risking
wide gentle blanket, stitching holds time
my friend the horizon, breathing in, breathing out
rhythmic intensity, simple design
daily activity, existence and absence
urgent decisions undo and redo
my caress is a gift, embedded in nature
touch is the mother, returns self to you
Judy Martin:  First Class Honours, BA embroidered textiles, Middlesex University, July 20, 2012
