Craft Ontario Award Reception October 30

Save the Date for the Awards Reception in Toronto this fall.

Pictured is Judy Martin's Lamentation quilt.  Judy won the Gladstone House Award and will be in attendance to receive it on October 30.

The Exhibition will be on view from October 7 until November 3 2024.

The Craft Awards recognize excellence and celebrate accomplished and dedicated practitioners in the field of craft and design. This year we are thrilled to announce the 2024 recipients, and hope you will join us in celebrating their achievements at the reception of the Craft Award Recipient Exhibition. Special thanks to this year's jurors: Ana Galindo, Annie Tung, Habiba El-Sayed, Heidi Earnshaw, Jean Marshall, and Rob Raeside!

Judy Martin will be exhibiting Red Moons in this exhibit about memory.
The jurors (Melanie Egan, Sarah Quinton, Elizabeth Eliott) chose this piece made from the borders of a 90 year old wool blanket because of the beautiful wear-marks in the cloth that came from use.  Human sleep is when we allow ourselves to be vulnerable, not only to cold but also to the unknown dream world.

This cloth holds evidence of years of human touch and protection.
It holds memory.

Judy and her husband will be in attendance at the opening in Toronto, September 10, 2015.
